Africa Israel Hotels is expanding its activities in Israel:
Africa Israel Hotels will manage the Crowne Plaza Ashdod, the company’s eleventh hotel in Israel, which is being built on Ashdod’s southern beach that will include 192 guest rooms, well-appointed suites and an events center.
Africa Israel Hotels together with the CEO of Zarfati Investments and Construction Ltd., Mr. Alex Erez, the Chairman of Ashdod Hotel Development and Investment Ltd., Mr. Vladimir Gershov, and company’s CEO, Mr. Gilad Trudler, in the presence of Ashdod Mayor Ing. Zvi Zilker, signed an agreement to manage a 5-star deluxe business hotel the be established opposite the city’s south beach. Africa Israel Hotels will manage the hotel under the
Crowne Plaza Ashdod brand.
The
Crowne Plaza Ashdod is the first hotel to be built in Ashdod for many years. The hotel will meet the stringent standards of all leading business hotels around the globe and will serve the guests of companies and factories in Ashdod and Yavne’s industrial zones and trade centers.
The 192 hotel guest rooms will be spread out over 10 floors in a single tower, which also includes another three commercial floors. In addition to 150 lavish guest rooms, the hotel will also feature 32 deluxe rooms, nine suites, a presidential suite and a business center. It will also feature a health club and spa, a covered swimming pool and an events and convention center for up to 1000 guests fitted with the most sophisticated communications and demonstration equipment.
Ashdod Mayor Lasri Yehiel praised the establishment of the new luxury hotel and said that it constitutes a breakthrough for Ashdod‘s hotel and tourist industries, and as a result, four additional hotels are currently under construction.
Gilad Trudler, CEO of the Ashdod Development and Investment Ltd. noted that Ashdod has the highest and most important concentration of infrastructure enterprises in Israel and now another new aspect is being added to Ashdod’s economic infrastructures in the form of the hotel, which will constitute an additional and important stage in developing tourism in the city. Mr. Erez and Mr.Trudler indicated that hotel’s trial run would begin in the beginning of 2010 and that it was expected to open its doors to the public at the end of the first quarter of 2010.
The
Crowne Plaza Ashdod joins the luxurious Crowne Plaza City Center business hotel, which Africa Israel Hotels opened in the Azrieli Towers in Tel Aviv. With the inauguration of the two new hotels the number of hotel room managed by the company under the Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Express Beat and AFI-Patio brands in Israel will reach to 2,560. Eleven Africa Israel hotels are spread out in Tiberias, Haifa, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, Ashdod, Ashkelon and Eilat. In addition, the company also operates the Tiberias Hot Springs and King’s City Eilat tourist sites and the Holiday Inn College in Tiberias. Overseas, Africa Israel operates resort hotels and businesses in Russia, Germany and Romania.
