About the site:
“The Bottle Orchard” is the only place on earth where trees are grown according to the ancient tradition of citrus fruit inside bottles. The site offers guided tours for groups and table service kosher meals (by prior arrangement). A well-equipped picnic facility is available for visitors free of charge. The activities last about an hour.
Opening hours: Sunday to Thursday: 08:00 a.m. to 18:00 p.m.; Friday: 08:00 a.m. to 13:00 p.m. Saturday evening: for two hours. Tours are conducted in daylight only and by prior arrangement.

How to get there:
From Tel Aviv: Travel southwards on the Ayalon Freeway. Turn off at the Ashdod exit and travel south past the Ashdod interchange towards Ashkelon and continue about 20 km to Brachia, then turn left onto Route 35 towards Kiryat Gat. About 10 km further on, you’ll reach a Sonol gas station where you turn right to Hamei Yoav.

The Moshav World
About the site:
Guided tours for groups, by prior arrangement. * Introduction to the moshav dog kennels, treasure hunt in the orchard, the cow and its calves, visit the petting zoo, butter churning and gypsum molding. * The moshav versus the kibbutz – a visit to a traditional kibbutz and comparing it to an active moshav. Special activities: expansion of the orchard program, playground, water games, the bread trail, “Find the missing person” or “Lineup” with the help of a tracking dog, and a modest outdoor meal.

The Carlsberg Visitors’ Center
About the site:
The visitors’ center includes three key centers of activity: a uniquely designed auditorium where visits are invited to watch a spectacular audio-visual show; a tour of the prize-winning state-of-the-art brewery, one of the most beautiful worldwide, abounding with the latest technologies and cutting-edge management and production methods; and the pub museum where visitors can enjoy unlimited tastings of the brewery’s products, buy keepsakes in the souvenir shop and see the unique monument: the museum, which describes the beer brewing process and beer drinking culture in the ancient east and Israel over 3,000 years ago by means of explanatory placard and an amazing display of authentic artifacts uncovered in archaeological digs in Israel, which are displayed under the auspices of the Antiquities Authority.

Kibbutz Yad Mordechai Tourism
Beit Hadvash ve Hadvorah (the honey and bee house): Kibbutz Yad Mordechai boasts Israel’s largest apiary. The “Beit Hadvash ve Hadvorah” visitors’ center presents the honey production process and the various apiary products, and includes exhibits from the world of bees: a glass beehive, the beekeeper opening a beehive behind a glass wall, video clips, honey tastings and a store for apiary products. A honey sweet experience with Kibbutz Yad Mordechai and the Ashkelon Hotel.
Petting zoo: a petting zoo is located next to the visitors’ center, offering children’s activities on Saturday. We recommend integrating these activities with a visit to “Beit Hadvash ve Hadvorah”.

Battlefield reconstruction site: the face to face battle of a handful against many is reconstructed at the original battlefield. Visitors may listen to the recorded explanation (available in 20 languages) of the battle that took place there during the War of Independence in 1948. Holocaust museum: the impressive, uniquely designed geometric building made of grey concrete demonstrates two subjects: from Holocaust to Resistance and the War of Independence. Visitors progress stage by stage along the trail that simulates the path of the Jewish nation – from the holocaust, through the partisan war to the establishment of the State of Israel.
